Annual holiday events get the community together to celebrate and connect. The City of Norfolk, Virginia needed attention grabbing and directional sidewalk graphics to help promote Holidays in the City, which began with the Grand Illumination Parade on November 23 and continues with holiday events and a Garden of Lights through January 5, 2025. The city called on their trusted source, FASTSIGNS franchise in Norfolk, to identify the right solution, print and install the graphics for the festivities.
The Challenge
The City of Norfolk needed eye catching sidewalk graphics to help guide attendees of the Illumination Event to provide directional assistance and guide attendees to undiscovered areas. Sidewalk graphics were to be placed throughout the downtown area. These outdoor sidewalk graphics needed to be tough enough to handle variable temperatures, potential inclement weather and higher than normal foot traffic while meeting the budget set for the project.
The Requirements
Not only were durability, environmental factors and foot traffic top of mind, the sidewalk graphics needed to look great and create attention while fitting within budget. Importantly, the material used needed to be slip resistant for safety in wet and dry conditions and resistant to chemicals found outdoors as additional durability factors. In addition, the graphics were to be removed in January, so the material needed to have easy removability.
The Solution

The Product
FoilWalk is a highly conformable, durable floor and ground graphic film from Continental Grafix USA.
